CURRICULUM VITAE OF DR APOSTOLOS STAVROS
I studied Medicine at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1983-1989).
I specialized in Obstetrics Gynecology initially at hospitals in Great Britain (Peterborough Hospital, Newham Hospital, Ealing Hospital, Royal London Hospital) and I completed my specialization in A University Clinic of Alexandra Hospital in Athens under the supervision of Prof. S. Michala.
During my training I had the opportunity to be trained in performing ultrasounds in Obstetrics Gynaecology and colposcopy for which I received special training in the Women's Hospital in Birmingham, UK under Professor. D M Luesley.
After the acquisition of trained specialist qualification I was trained for eighteen months in fetus medicine center Harris Birthright Research Center for Fetal Medicine at Kings College Hospital, London under the supervision of Prof. Kyprou Nikolaidi (1999-2001).
I am a certified practitioner of the Fetal Medicine Foundation to perform Maternity Ultrasounds (nuchal translucency, second level, Doppler fetoplacental circulation) and I am authorized to perform ultrasounds by the Ministry of Health.
I am a member of the international company of ultrasounds in Obstetrics Gynaecology ISUOG, the Greek company Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Greek company Perinatal Medicine.
Since 2001 I worked at the Fetal Medicine Obstetrics center Leto and “Mitera” Maternity Clinic in Athens where I still work today. I remain a partner of both maternity hospitals and Rea while maintaining a fully equipped infirmary on 118D Kifisias Avenue in Athens.
